Blanca Castro was born and raised in Laredo, Tx. She grew up in south Laredo and graduated from Dr. Leo Cigarroa High School. After graduation, she attended UTSA as a pre-nursing student and then went on to the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2009 and Masters Degree in Nursing in 2016. She was inducted into Sigma Theta Tao International Nursing Honor Society in 2016 and is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board.
Her nursing experience includes working as a staff nurse at Doctors Hospital pediatric unit, University Hospital in San Antonio in the pediatric unit as well as private duty nursing, and during her training, she was also a teaching assistant at the UT Health Science Center Simulation lab.
As a Nurse Practitioner, she has experience in family practice and physical medicine. She is very happy to have found GCOL and so grateful to have such wonderful people to work along with not only great minds but also great hearts. She hopes to make a difference in the Laredo community and be an asset to GCOL for years to come.
During her spare time, she enjoys watching movies, listening to music, and spending time with her family.
